About paduno

Is paduno running yet?

Not yet. We're preparing to open in London. The date is to be announced once the waitlist shows where demand is. You can join free now and we'll email you when booking opens. Our What's live page lists exactly what works today and what's still being built.

Are the sessions on the site real?

No. They're examples, labelled as such, so you can see how listings and filters will work. They show the planned opening week and target areas. No venue has been signed, nobody has booked them and they can't be paid for.

How is paduno different from a court-booking app?

A booking app sells you a court and assumes you have three people to fill it. paduno sells you one place in a hosted session at your level, then helps you find regular partners, join a crew and enter organised competition. It's a club rather than a booking system.

Booking

Can I come on my own?

Yes. That's the point. You book one place, not a court. Your captain pairs players by level and introduces everyone.

What will a place include?

Court time for the session length shown, balls, and a captain running the session. First Timers sessions include a borrowed racket. Each listing says exactly what you're booking: a place in a social session, a place in a doubles session, a tournament entry or a league entry.

What will it cost?

Prices are set once we've agreed courts with venues, and published before the first game goes on sale. One price covers your spot, VAT included, with no booking fee. Joining the waitlist is free. Founding members and paduno+ members pay less on every game. Tournament and league entries are priced per pair. Where your money goes.

What if I need to cancel?

The planned policy: cancel up to two days before for a full refund. Inside two days the court is already paid for, so you're refunded only if someone on the waitlist takes your place. The full policy will be in our booking terms.

What if a court doesn't fill?

Courts only go live with four booked. Two days before, any court that isn't full goes back to the venue, and you're offered a place on another court or night, or a full refund. You're never asked to play three-a-side.

What is the Full Court Guarantee?

Every round of your game has four on your court, at your Level band. If we miss, because a round is played with fewer than four or we can't place you in your band, your spot is refunded in full without you having to ask. How it works.

Can I bring friends?

Yes. Book a place each. A padel court holds four players, so a group of eight would play across two courts rather than on one.

Levels

How do levels work?

We use a scale from 1.0 to 5.0. 1.0 means you've never played. 2.0–2.5 is a regular who can keep a rally going. 3.0–3.5 plays off the back glass with confidence and has a reliable bandeja. 4.5 and up competes in club tournaments. Pick your best guess when you join. When ratings go live we'll publish a rough conversion to Playtomic levels, so you can tell us the one you already have.

What if I pick the wrong level?

Your captain watches round one and can move you to a closer court on the night. Once ratings are live, your rating will move fastest in your first few matches, so a wrong guess corrects itself. How the rating works.

Playing

I've never played. Is that OK?

Completely. Book a First Timers session: it starts with twenty minutes of basics, the racket is included and everyone on court is new. How to play padel covers the rules in plain English.

What should I bring?

Trainers with a flat, non-marking sole, and water. Wear whatever sportswear you're comfortable in. If you don't have a racket, choose a session that includes one.

Do partners change during a session?

It depends on the format. In an Americano or Mexicano your partner changes every round. In Social Doubles, a League fixture or an Open you keep the same partner. Every listing says which. All the formats.

Will I sit out at all?

No. Every live court has four players, and if someone drops out on the night, the captain plays in their place. If you ever do sit out a round, that game is free.

What if I'm running late?

Message your captain using the details in your booking confirmation. Rotations are set at the start, so arrive by the start time to play the whole session.

Competing and community

Does turning up a lot help my ranking?

No. Your rating only moves on match results. Attendance earns community rewards, which earn perks but never affect your rating, division or league position. Why we keep them separate.

Is a crew the same as a team?

No. A crew is a community of players with a shared name, and it can be any size. On court, crew members still play as pairs, four to a court. How crews work.

Are there women-only sessions?

They're planned for our first season, run by women captains at every level. Women's & inclusive sessions.

Safety

Who can play?

paduno sessions are for adults aged 18 and over.

What if something goes wrong at a session?

Tell your captain on the night. If you'd rather not, or it's about the captain, email [email protected]. How we handle concerns.

Will I be photographed?

Not without saying yes. Our photography and consent policy.
